Dating in Finistère, the land’s end for two

Pointe du Raz, Finistère’s sentinel

A listed Grand Site of France, the Pointe du Raz plunges its granite cliffs into the Atlantic facing the Vieille lighthouse. A marked path leads to the furthest tip, where the wind keeps company with gulls and the Our Lady of the Shipwrecked. Nearby, the Baie des Trépassés offers blond sand and surf waves. A date to live wrapped up warm, for a true gust of the open sea.

Lighthouses and headlands

At 65 metres tall, the Eckmühl Lighthouse in Penmarc’h is among the highest in Europe: the climb is worth it for the ocean view. In Plougonvelin, Pointe Saint-Mathieu combines abbey ruins and a white lighthouse. A little further north, the Crozon Peninsula strings spectacular capes, Cap de la Chèvre and Pen-Hir, for picnics above the waves and endless photographs.

Ouessant, Molène and the islands

Off Brest, the crossing to Ouessant is already an adventure. The island reveals short heather, powerful lighthouses including the Créac’h, curious sheep and dizzying coastal paths.
